    Description

The Workers Travel Association (WTA) as founded in 1921 through a collaboration of the trade unions, the English Labour political party and the Co-Operative Movement. From 1924, the WTA was run as an Industrial & Provident Society on a not-for-profit basis to provide affordable holidays abroad for working people and their families. This is very similar to the Nazi's Kraft Durch Freude organization which was also created to provide affordable holidays for German citizens.  The WTA continued until 1966 at which time the name was changed. This pin is, most likely from the 1930's or 1940's.  The pin measures about 1 inch in diameter and is in excellent condition on the obverse with some rusting on the reverse as can be seen in the photos.
