12 Gorgeous Vintage Gold Plated Copper and Multi-Color Cloisonne S.S. KEWPIE Doll 1-1/2 Inch Tall Figures - New Old Stock
This lot consists of TWELVE brand New Old Stock, unused highly detailed and accurate depictions of a sailor S.S. Kewpie character.  Kewpie is a brand of dolls and figurines that were conceived as comic strip characters by cartoonist Rose O'Neill.
These 1-½ inch tall pieces are gold plated solid copper filled with a variety of colors of genuine cloisonné (glass, not paint) which is heated to over 1000 degrees F in the complicated and highly skilled manufacturing process.
We acquired these kewpie doll figures when we purchased the assets of a company in Minneapolis about 35 years ago, so we know they are at least that old.  All twelve are in unused, undamaged condition, exactly as shown.  Our photo shows one of the kewpies turned over so that you can see what the back side looks like on all of them.
