    Description

    Description:
This is such a well-done piece that I've enjoyed as a display in my library.
    The detail is quite lovely.
Done in copper, the cranes and trees look applied, while there are details done in both repousse and chasing.
I've see similar pieces with a bottom that have a cartouche signature. This piece is missing the bottom entirely, meaning it is no longer a vase or was perhaps converted to use as a lamp base.
The base seems like a bronze with patina.
The overall height is 8-7/8”. The base is 4.5”.
I have lots of Chinese pieces, but less familiar with Japanese periods. Still, I think this is Japanese and is about 100 years old.

Most importantly, this DOES NOT HAVE A BOTTOM....making it a very ineffective vase.
There is a hole on the base in the bronze and seems to correlate to where the missing metal on the bottom was on other Japanese pieces I've seen.
    Not polished, of course.
The inside had a large amount of soot which I have cleaned. There are still some carbon deposits.
Please review the pictures closely as they are part of the description.
I apologize ahead of time for the cost of shipping. I only ship USPS Priority insured.
