Pair Antique French Hand-Wrought Sterling Silver + Mustard Pots Engine Turned

Description

This listing is for a pair of antique 950 silver (95% silver content whereas sterling is 92.5%) hand-wrought mustard pots that were made in France sometime between 1840 and 1879.   They sit on 3 "hoof" feet and have all-over engine turned decoration.   The insides of the pots have a faint gold wash.  They are stamped with the Mercury export mark and two other hallmarks on each piece.  One of the hallmarks is tiny and I was unable to make it out and the second mark is a capital B inside of a 6 sided star inside of a square.  It looks like this mark on the bottom was stamped over an existing mark.  Perhaps the maker of these pots mark was on the bottom and when these were exported, another mark was stamped over the French silversmith's mark.    Each pot has a very, very faint monogram.  On one it looks like an S.  I cannot make out what it is on the other.  I didn't even see these monograms until I started taking pictures.  Each pot is 2 1/2" in diameter and stands 3 1/2" tall.  Together they weigh 160.1 grams (5.14 troy ounces).   Both pots sit flat on a hard surface with no wobbles.
Condition:  Very good used antique condition.  One of the pots has a small ding/dent just above the mid-line to the left of the central medallion.  On each lid where the lid touches the handle when opened, there are small indentations from the handle.  Otherwise, there are no other issues other than needing a good polishing.  Please see all pictures for details.
