Not a repro but a late 19th-early 20th c lg French embossed tin sign, for Robert Biberon, L Meilleur, manufacturer of glass baby milk bottles & feeding tubes, Paris, France. In really extraordinary shape, w/only some minor oxidation on the backside of the tin sign & some various episodes of nat oxidized & crazed surfaces. Examined under a loop, the sign is clearly antique & was no doubt kept indoors, where it wasn't subjected to the depreciating effects of moisture fluctuation, changes in humidity & extreme temps. The sign is nearly without any abrasions or scuffs to its litho'd tin surface & is also free of any noticeable dents or dings, tears to any of its metal edges & loss of detail in its extraordinary graphic iconography. There's a pre-drilled perforation at the very top of the sign which is orig to its manufacture. The image of a baby suckling a baby bottle & feeding tube is extraordinary & exquisitely well preserved. Fine.

In really extraordinary shape, with only some minor oxidation on the backside of the tin sign and some various episodes of naturally oxidized and crazed surfaces. The crazing and crackling of the enamel painted lithographed graphic iconography is not even, is not democratically distributed and occurs in various places in varying degrees of intensity. For this reason alone, the tin sign is clearly antique and not a reproduction, with forced, faux distress, intended to be a facsimile of the natural distress of the surface of a real antique sign. Examined under a magnifying loop, the sign is clearly antique and was no doubt kept indoors, where it wasn't subjected to the depreciating effects of moisture fluctuation, changes in humidity and extreme temperatures. The sign is nearly without any abrasions or scuffs to its lithographed tin surface and is also free of any noticeable dents or dings, tears to any of its metal edges and loss of detail of its extraordinary graphic iconography. There's a pre-drilled perforation at the very top of the sign which is original to its manufacture. The image of a baby suckling a baby bottle and feeding tube is extraordinary and exquisitely well preserved. Very fine. About as beautiful an antique tin sign as anyone could possibly ask for. Great color and great condition make this antique
