Description

Israel 50 & 100 Pruta Banknotes ~ 1952
GEM UNCIRCULATED ~ Pick# 10c, 12c; Kagan FC-3d, FC-4c
Israel 50 & 100 Pruta Banknotes ~ 1952,
42 x 70 mm. The 50-Pruta note is catalog Pick# 10c, Kagan FC-3d, and PC23. The 100-Pruta note is catalog Pick# 12c, Kagan FC-4c, and PC24. This is Israel's second issue of fractional paper currency in March, June, and September 1952. They were withdrawn in 1954.
Each banknote has an ornamental frame and the numeral "50" or "100" within a central guilloche, "State of Israel" in Hebrew and Arabic at top. The reverse has the denomination in large type in a central guilloche. The serial number (468877) on the 50 Pruta note is in green (seldom seen) and the serial number (723514) on the 100 Pruta note is also in green. On most of the notes, the serial number is in black.
The signatures, which vary on these notes, are
the SCARCE pair
of A. Neeman, Minister of Finance, and L. Eshkol, Comptroller of the Treasury. (Much more common are signatures of M. Zagaggi and E. Kaplan found on the vast majority of banknotes.) These banknotes also have a "gimel" following the serial number on the right, which appears only on the Neeman/Eshkol notes.
These banknotes are
incredibly RARE in GEM UNCIRCULATED
condition.

not
accept a return of this banknote because the money is being donated to charity and I can't "undonate" it.
Many outstanding coins
