    Description

    A lovely antique sterling silver mustard jar with cobalt blue glass lining insert, dated to mid-nineteenth-century Victorian London. Features plain cylindrical body with ribbed trim detailing and an armorial engraving on the lid (now very faint). Measures approx. 3"h x 4"l x 3"w, sterling weighs approx. 166g/5.8oz. Overall, this piece is in good/fair antique condition, displaying just general wear consistent with age, including tarnish, surface scratches, some tiny nicks, and a few dings/slight dents to the sterling jar, and surface scratches and a few inner rim flea bites to the glass liner - see pictures. It does not come with a matching spoon. Stamped on jar exterior with the sterling lion, London leopard head, letter "C" (1838) date, and Victoria sovereign marks, and what appears to be a "WE" hallmark. Lid underside is stamped again with lion, date, and "WE" marks.
