Description
Offered for your consideration is a pair of fully dressed Kewpie Dolls.  Made in Japan, this pair appear native to their home country.  The fully jointed dolls may be of a bone china material.  The hair on the two dolls is very realistic, but we have not tested to determine the exact material used.  Both of the dolls are marked on their left leg with their country of origin.  Since their is no manufacturer we could identify, it is difficult to determine their age.  Their faces are handpainted to the eyebrows, eyelashes and lips.  The eyes could be made of glass, which is not uncommon for the product used for doll eyes.  The arms, legs and heads are all movable.  The doll with the red sash, does have a head which is looser than that of the other doll.  Both of the dolls are fully dressed in cultural attire and are clean and free of marks or tears.  The legs do have hairline cracks, but is concealed with their robes when displayed.  Each of the dolls do have a crack on their face, one by the nose, the other by the mouth.(see pics)  The dolls measure approximately 7" in length.  They have a combined weight of 8 ounces, but will ship at 1 pound 8 ounces as they will be boxed for protection.  A lovely  pair to add for the collector.  Auctions can be combined to save on shipping.  Thank you for viewing our listing.  ***Please be sure to view all 21 photos with this listing.
